On 25th June, 3 members of the club competed as individuals at the Area 20 Horse Trials qualifier at Llanymynech.
It was an early start for Jennie Williams and Donna Alexander and their lovely horses who were first and second to go in their 80cm sections for dressage just after 8am. Both combinations pointed their toes really well for scores of 25.5 and 35 respectively. First phase accomplished, it was off to the show jumping.
The ground was firm but had good grass coverage so riders and horses were able to warm up well. Jennie was first to go, jumping a lovely round, just rolling one pole on a fence that caught a lot of people out during the day. Donna also rode a super round, with 2 unlucky poles down.
Coloured poles done, it was a quick wardrobe change for cross country. Fantastic clears from both combinations, however unfortunately time faults put both out of the qualifying places. Really good, confident outings for both competitors though, good luck for the rest of the season!
Later in the day, Hayley Millington-Smith was competing in the 100+. Hayley and her lovely horse Phoenix did a fantastic double clear to finish on their dressage score of 29 in second place. Unfortunately only the first place qualified for the finals but it was a great challenge and I’m sure they have a great rest of the season ahead of them!
Well done ladies and thanks for representing the club so brilliantly!

What a fantastic day for Team Bradley Dale at the dressage to music qualifiers at Reaseheath College! Our pairs did a brilliant test to come 2nd, well done! Not only this, but Amanda was also the only rider to score over 70% in the novice 0 points and has qualified for the championships. In the elementary to music, BDRC did an excellent job to finish 1st and 2nd. Jane Boothroyd also won the medium class, so has qualified for both the elementary and medium championships. Well done to all Bradley Dale team members ( Ruth Mintypants, Amanda Chatfield, Jane Boothroyd and Ysanne Jones) we are all very proud of your success and wish you the best of luck at the championships!
